Shipping

We ship out of New York City using primarily UPS (and occasionally FedEx and USPS). We fulfill orders promptly after they are placed — no later than next business day whenever possible. We may occasionally be a couple of days behind schedule due to a high volume of orders (typically during the holiday season). If this happens with your order, you will get an email update from us. If your order is time-sensitive, be sure to say so in the Comments box when you place it or to contact us about it.

If you choose an Economy shipping method, we will use UPS or USPS, as the case may be, to ship your order. If you choose a UPS shipping method we will never switch to USPS (but we may occasionally switch to the equivalent FedEx shipping method for logistical reasons). Orders $75 and up shipping to the 48 contiguous United States ship with UPS or USPS and get free ground shipping.

Carrier rates based on weight and distance apply to all orders under $75; all orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and abroad; and all orders shipping express. Our website is linked to carrier rate schedules so that you can check the rates for all available shipping methods and select the one that works for you before completing your order.

We send you an email with your tracking information (including tracking number and scheduled delivery date) once the carrier has picked up your package at our location and once it has delivered it to you (or the recipient you chose).

International Shipments

In addition to domestic shipping within the United States, we offer international shipping. International shipments are accompanied by required customs forms. Customs duties and related fees, if any, are to be determined by relevant customs authorities and are at the expenses of the recipient.

Best By Dates

Our products usually have a shelf life of at least 60 days and often much longer. Any shorter shelf life is flagged on our website. Please keep in mind the best by date of our products is in the European format (DD/MM/YY). For example, 2/12/23 means December 2, 2023 (not February 12, 2023).

Chocolate Shipments

During the hottest months (typically between mid May and the end of September) we may defer shipment of chocolate orders (or remove and refund chocolate items from your order), based on the weather forecast at our and your location. Please take your region's climate into account when ordering chocolate at other times of the year. Please note that we bear no responsibility for melted chocolate.

Returns and Refunds

You may return unopened products within 10 days of delivery for a full refund. If the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective product), we will also pay for the return shipping costs.

If you need to return a product, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned product.

Please notify us immediately (at contact@simplygourmand.com) of any product damaged in shipment and keep it available for carrier's inspection within 10 days of delivery. We will ship a replacement product or issue a refund, whichever works better for you. Please note that shipment damages should be notified within 5 days of delivery.

Security and Privacy

All the information provided by our customers (including credit card details) is protected through secure socket layer (SSL) encryption technology prior to transmission over the internet at check-out time. 

We never sell the private data we collect. We do not share the private data we collect with any third party, except and only to the extent they are needed by companies we use in the course of our regular business, including, but not limited to, our e-commerce platform provider, our payment gateway, our shipping providers, our email marketing provider, or other service providers such as Google (in particular Google Ads and Google Customer Reviews).

From time to time we advertise to previous visitors of our website through online ads displayed by Google Ads. Google uses cookies to serve these ads. You can opt out of Google's use of cookies by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Cookies are also used and information on specific transactions shared with Google in connection with its Google Customer Reviews program. You can delete cookies by clearing the cache of the internet browser(s) you use as often as you deem necessary.

No Sales Tax on Most Products

We are required by law to collect a 8.875% sales tax on taxable products shipped to the State of New York. The good news is, all the products we sell are exempted from sales tax, with the exception of candies, chocolate, and non-food products. If your billing address is in New York and your order includes candies, chocolate, and/or non-food products, sales tax will be added to the purchase value of these products only when you enter your order and before you confirm it. In all other cases, you owe no sales tax.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

We ship in partly recycled, 100% recyclable, boxes. We fill the voids in packages with a combination of kraft paper and static-free organic starch packing peanuts, which decompose in water leaving no toxic waste.
