Celebrate France and Paris with this vibrant art print featuring the original blueprint of the Eiffel Tower by its architect Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 Universal Exhibition, printed on thick 100% cotton paper using the old-fashioned Letterpress technique. Also a lovely gift idea!
Inks are mixed by hand and each color is printed separately using embossed printing forms on a Heidelberg press from the 1950s. The whole point of Letterpress is this hollow left by the printing, which gives relief to the design. Letterpress colors are incredibly deep and bright, because they are pure colors (Pantone colors).
L'Atelier Letterpress was founded in 2013 by Denis Gaudaré, master printer, and Mylène Perelgritz, graphic designer, after they fell in love with the Letterpress printing technique. Their print shop operates from a barge nestled in lush greenery south of Paris. We love their spot-on signature line: Le papier devient précieux (Paper becomes precious)
